Munich, Germany — AcePower, a leading provider of high-efficiency energy solutions, unveiled its next-generation 50kW high-efficiency charging module at the Power2Drive exhibition this week. To accelerate Europe’s rapidly growing DC fast-charging infrastructure, the module is designed to offer ultra-high efficiency, low noise, and exceptional reliability, driving safer, faster, and more enjoyable charging experiences.

Adopting silicon carbide technology, AcePower’s 50kW high-efficiency charging module achieves a peak efficiency of 97.6%, and a power density of 50W/inch³, about 2% above the global industry average. If a 400kW charging pile is using the module, about 8760 kWh of electricity cost can be saved every year. In addition, the module also provides extra VPFC functionality, which is expected to strengthen charging safety and reduce risk caused by possible grid fluctuations.

> Key Features of 50kW Charging Module

  • High Efficiency: Full SiC design delivers 97% efficiency at 800V full load, with a peak efficiency of 97.6%.
  • Ultra-Quiet Operation: Noise levels below 55dB.
  • Wide Voltage Range: 150–1000Vdc output, compatible with European voltage inputs.
  • Exceptional EMI Performance: Meets Class B standards.
  • High Protection: Advanced air cooling technology and full glue filling design isolates components from harsh environments, ensuring stable operation in extreme conditions (high temperature, humidity, altitude, etc.) with a lifespan 10 years.
  • High Altitude Capability: Full load operation at up to 4,000 meters without derating.
  • VPFC Function: The module is equipped with various reactive and active power regulation modes. After the user selects the corresponding mode, the module can output the corresponding reactive power according to the preset strategy, and can also dynamically adjust the charging power according to the grid frequency, so as to improve the voltage/frequency stability of the grid and meet the requirements of relevant regulations.

> Game changer in DC ultra-fast charging: High-efficiency modules

AcePower was established in 2021 by a group of seasoned power conversion experts. The core team members have over 20 years of industry experience. As one of the earliest manufacturers to adopt comprehensive silicon carbide (SiC) design and full potting technology, AcePower has enabled 97% full-load efficiency in its high-efficiency charging modules, providing more market-competitive energy application for operators.

By integrating full SiC technology into both the three-phase PWM PFC and isolated DCDC stages, AcePower’s modules achieve 97% full-load efficiency and ultra-low noise (below 51dB: air-cooling series, below 40dB: liquid-cooling series).

“Besides 50kW, products showcased at P2D include 40kW DCDC (air-cooled), 40kW ACDC (liquid-cooled), 60kW DCDC (liquid-cooled), 30kW V2G (air-cooled), and 75kW ACDC (liquid-cooled), which are expected to showcase AcePower’s ultra-high-efficiency technologies and outstanding full-scenario reliability. These products are certified to CE/CSA, compatible for European application,” said Carl Yan, Chief Technology Officer of AcePower.

>  ACE product: delivering forward-looking energy solutions

By developing the most comprehensive, industry-leading technical solutions that span air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies across a power range of 7kW to 125kW, AcePower is committed to delivering forward-looking energy solutions. These solutions integrate renewable energy, energy storage, and charging infrastructure to help clients reduce energy costs and enhance device operational performance.

AcePower’s V2G technology features four operational modes (AC–DC charging, off-grid discharging, grid-tied charging and discharging, and bidirectional charging and discharging), enabling diverse scenarios including energy storage, microgrid management, and renewable integration, meeting growing European demand for grid stability. By installing AcePower V2G modules at integrated solar+storage charging stations, vehicles can act as energy storage units, charging during off-peak hours and discharging in reverse during peak hours, thereby helping to stabilize the grid through peak shaving and valley filling.

In the Chinese market, AcePower high-efficiency charging modules have been adopted by key CPOs, including ABB and StarCharge. According to the estimates by the third-party consulting firm Xin Gong Bai Ze, the total sales of charging modules in the Chinese market was approximately 1.8 million units in 2024, with AcePower’s market share being around 6%. AcePower was awarded as a top-10 competitive charging module brand in China.

“According to ACEA (the European Automobile Manufacturers Association), to meet its goal of reducing transportation emissions by 55% by 2030, Europe will need 8.8 million EV charging stations by 2030, requiring 1.2 million annual additions. The sustainable growth is now being driven by fast charging infrastructure, whose reliability and profitability is technically supported by module efficiency and reliability. As the leader in efficient energy conversion, AcePower’s solutions and experience are expected to accelerate the current process happening in Europe,” said Albert Wang, CEO of AcePower.
